Hi folks A couple of us have thought it would be good to put together a google map to identify VSTF members who'd be willing to check out a trailer for members who are looking for one. For instance I live in Oakland, you live in Phoenix and are interested in a trailer that's located in Monterey. I'm willing to go check it out for you to see if it's worth your time and money. So please add your user name and how far you are willing to go to the map below so that other members can help each other. If you are looking at a trailer and there's a member on the map, shoot them a pm and see if it will work out. Anyone with the below link should be able to add their info, but let me know if you need help. maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=200320936095318052385.00049dd3bf7f729815d09&t=h&z=19ADMIN NOTE: There seems to be some confusion as to how a member can add there location to the map. Please follow these instructions to add your marker and location....
TO ADD YOUR NAME TO THE MAP...
-Please click on EDIT.
-Manipulate the map to find your location.
-CLICK on the blue teardrop shaped MARKER located on the map near the directional toggles.
-DRAG and DROP the MARKER on to your scouting location.
-ENTER your name and your scouting area perimeters and requirements into the boxes.
-CLICK the SAVE button.
-CLICK the DONE button.

I'm not going to sign up because of my work schedule only allowing me 24 days at home out of every 56, but if I am home and caught up on my honey-do list, or not taping a segment on my new Reality Show, Vintage Camper Hoarders, I'd check out anything 100 miles from Gulfport, Mississippi (remember what I think is a "keeper" based on my harem...lol) for any VSTF Member that sends me a pm to see if I am in country and tells me where it is. Oh and my truck is a 4X4 so if I can find that "pig trail" the seller abandoned it down, I can get in there.

It took me a bit to realize you had to have an account, and be signed in, and then load the page to make the EDIT button appear (otherwise it is a link that says save to my maps).
Neat idea, I am added to the map now.

I thought I was the only stupid one until Brian mentioned else where that you need to be "LOGGED INTO GOOGLE" in order to add to the map or edit. Hope this helps!

One of the best things about the web could be if it really does connect people better. I think this board does that for sure, and I think we are building a community. I like that the map is helping to foster that.

I just signed up but I think I accidentally added some extra blue arrows. If anyone can go in and delete them I would appreciate it.

Just added my blue placeholder. I drove through Pennsylvania a month ago and saw 4-5 Shastas off the highway, in fields, in driveways. So I may go "freestyl'n" (as the American Pickers call it) some day to see if I can find a diamond in the rough. I may only find rough diamonds but that's fine as well. Looking forward to helping out fellow Shasta buffs when I can!

How is it that Daisy Shasta and I have moved on this map? Since the map can be edited by anyone, it's kinda hard to say. Maybe someone was trying to do theirs and grabbed yours and daisy shastas by accident. If you can go back in and put em where they are supposed to be it should be fine. Question...has anyone been able to use the map? I've had one request.

okay this is weird. Looks like someone with a google name of Pattern mart went in and changed a few markers. My flag has now been replaced with Daisy Shasta's, Distant 75 looks to be in Toledo instead of Detroit and a second Daisy Shasta has been placed in Michigan. I'm guessing with my sherlock holmes hat on that PatternMart may have been havign some difficulty placing a flag.
Okay I made the changes. I had a hard enough time doing it that I could see how this could have happened by accident.
If you can't manage it, pm me you coordinates and conditions (eg how far you'll look) and I'll post your pin for you.

I believe that Patternmart is Daisy Shasta (Kel). Maybe she got a bit confused when posting her (or checking out others) markers.... Brian

Thanks GK. I don't know that I would be a good one to view for others til I educate myself some more.

Great idea to network. I've added our location to the map.
Hey--just a thought! For those of us Shasta addicts; I hope I have the integrity and self-control to not buy the Shasta for my own evil purposes instead of passing on positive feedback! (just kidding...really....)

Got it and messaged 1McNasty about viewing for me, even though it is a bit out of his driving range.
Thanks to all who offered assistance in my limited technological abilities.
