I did a web search and it appears that from photos I found that up until 1967 the Compacts illustrated had wings, then in 1968 and 1969 the Compacts I found photos of did not have wings. I am wondering if Shasta did not put wings on Compact models for those two years, and found most Shasta Compact buyers "wanted their wings back", because after 1969 it seems some later model Compacts had their wings again. I don't think your lack of wings on your 1968 model means you have a low end '68 Compact...I think maybe Shasta was just experimenting. This is a very uneducated guess, just a guess based on trying to find pics of a 1968 Compact with wings and not finding any. Can anyone else support or debunk my mini-research theory? Boozer just sent me a picture of a 1968 Starflyte (or whatever the model with the equipment "trunk" at the back was), that he has recently acquired and it had wings, so maybe some '68 models had them and others did not, again as a test to see if buyers would "demand" wings on future models or just gravitate to the models that had wings. Kind of like when they switched from the birch interiors in the Compact to the newer paneling.

Thanks fer yer reply about the wings....sounds logical to me. And speakin of the 'newer paneling', I have that in mine...the white 'pickled' look.... The trailer had the typical leak around the vent and the last owner fixed it but never replaced the paneling....anyone know2 where I can get a replacement piece?
Thanks, Randy
Pics posted SOON!

All these conversations are good, because there is still so little information out there about a company that produced so many trailers and apparently so many versions of their models. Glad to hear it had wings, because now mounting a new set should be easier.
