Yay, first post in this topic.
So, anybody have an idea what I can use to temporarily cap the drain line coming out of the side for travelling or when not in use? I have the 1 1/2" mail end coming out of the side and I'd like to have a cap to put on it. I'd also like to find some kind of trim for the hole that it come out of. Seems like there would be something out there for it, but I probably just don't know the proper lingo for the right stuff. Any help? Thanks,

Joe, here is a pic of my setup. The cap is original and the surround is a new piece that I found at the local plumbing store that EXACTLY matched the original-minus the rust. I can get a better pic if needed and I will swing by the plumbing store tomorrow to get a better description of the surround. As for the cap, you should be able to find a 1 1/2" threaded cap at the hardware store that will work. For the gray water connector from the 1.5" to the hose connection- Valterra products makes the proper one and it is part #T01-0091VP. Hope this helps. Jim

Thanks Jim, no need for a better pic of the surround ring, I know what those are. It's the cap I'm really battling with finding. Nothing like that at my local Ace. At this point I may be making a cap.

Just FYI for others, the surround trim piece is referred to as a Split Flange for cast iron pipe and can be found at Ace Hardware as well as other plumbing supply houses. It is chrome plated and only costs around $3. I found some cast iron galvanized caps at the store that may work fine. You could drill a hole in the center to mount a tether chain if desired. Here are some nice caps that I found online that may work as well: www.cascadefire.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=16_58_218There are also some fire hose end caps on eBay that may work if they have the right thread pitch. I remove the side drain, do away with the sink trap and go straight down thru the floor. Solves a lot of problems for me: no trap to freeze, can cover the side hole and the grey water is easy to catch. No drips down the side of the trailer...

The stainless vent covers the old sink hole. Attachments:
