I live about 2 miles from this RV park, and actually my log-home was built by the same contractor that did their office building there. Willowind is respected in our community as clean, modern and safe. It sits on the same corner as McDonald's, Wendy's, Walgreen's and a large market/pharmacy. It's about 6 miles to Quail Creek Rsvr, Sand Hollow Rsvr, and Grandpa's Fishing Pond. It just sold and the website is quoting it at $33 a night/in season.
Sand Hollow has a dock for larger boats/houseboats. It's a party lake...you will see alcohol there...you will see a lot of families as well. They have (seasonal) tube rides there, ATV's are for rent in Hurricane. Stocked with bass and trout. There's a $8 a day fee to get in. Overnight camping is allowed No shade. Plenty of parking. Exit 15fwy at Hurricane Exit-16 and go about 4miles to the lake. You can't miss it. :::Mom's, there is a chigger/parasite that sometimes lives in the shallow water of this lake and causes little bites, check to see if it's a problem this year :::
Quail Lake has very nice beach fronted, covered picnic areas (where you can stay overnight for $8 a night I believe) and is much more sedate. Stocked with bass and trout. Campgrounds are on the Harrisburg side of the lake...just continue to the back side, you'll see them. Exit 15fwy at either Hurricane or Harrisburg. You'll see signs. Serious fisherman go to Quayle! (No chiggers!) Directly across from Sand Hollow, near WalMart.
Grandpa's fishing pond is smaller. It adjoins the Virgin River and is awesome for people with dogs. You can run them off-lead (you won't be bothered) and the river there is slow/deep. Free parking. No overnight camping (if you get caught). (No chiggers)
This area hosts the Washington County Fair in late July/early August...check their calendar. It's a good fair and not too expensive by anyone's standards. Entry is free. Parking is about $3.
Provisions can be purchased at the Wal-mart on SR-9 or at Lin's in Hurricane. RV supplies can be bought at ACE Hardware in Hurricane or Nielson's RV, next to McDonalds as you enter town.
