Uhhg! These things are driving me nuts. The one on the Astroflyte takes me 5-8 minutes of wiggling the key to get it to finally open and tonight I tried the one on the Compact for the first time and can't get it open to save my life. The key won't even turn. So not sure if it's because of the new paint or what. But the lock is new. Why do these locks give me such fits?
Of course I can't find the WD-40. I think hubby took it over to one of the rental houses. Not that it would work but was going to spray on the lock parts on the Astroflyte if I ever get it open again and try spraying the key on the one for the Compact before sliding it into the lock. I didn't want to wrangle it too much for fear I'd break it and end up with a open cargo door.
Anyone else have trouble with these or is it just me?

Ahh, ok. Thanks for the tip. I'll look for those. Hopefully, it will do the trick.

Kel, maybe double check the key to be sure it's the correct one. Usually, new locks don't freeze up. Also, try pushing in at the lock latch area when trying to turn the key. When new, the latch can be very tight. If worse comes to worse, you can crawl into the cargo area and take a look at what is hanging up.
