I know we had talked about doing these in another thread ( vintageshasta.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=yourshastaphotos&thread=2276&page=1), so here is a mock-up I made today using my trailer (although it's unfinished, so I will have to make a new one when my trailer is all done and painted cute and everything!). These are actual "trader cards" that are press-printed by a professional lab so they look really beautiful in person (they are the exact size and finish as baseball cards). I can make these for $15 for a pack of 12, and can probably ship them for a buck or two. I can customize the color on the background to match your trailer and of course the name and info will all be your own. Let me know what you think!

That looks great Jessie. I think a number of Members and others on other Forums might be placing orders, now if Gremlinguy's dad can come up with a miniature magazine rack like holder that can attach to an awning pole...it will almost be like one of those "Take one" containers some realtors put out...of course at $1.25 each...most will want to trade...you might also look into making old fashioned looking post cards with your trailer on the front, and the little info spot above the place where the address section is...Think how cool it would be for members to send friends postcards of their campers as they travel to campgrounds...would help make them (the recipients) "eat their hearts out" with envy...lol!

Heck yeah!! I can definitely do postcards too. What a fun way to keep in touch with friends! (lol - vintage communication!)

It looks great! So vintagy (: Here's a question...I wonder if you could do templates for folks (charge a small fee of course) that are business card size? Over at Vistaprint.com you can order 250 cards free (just pay shipping) and upload your own images. That might be an alternative option for some that might not be able to swing $15 for the 12 pack.
Personally, I'd love to have biz cards with a neat background like that, my trailer pic, name and perhaps blog link. I think you can do two sided biz cards on Vista print but I think those cost a wee bit more.

Jessie-
Just some clarification... Are they done and for sale or are we still in the planning stages? IF they are a item for sale I will move this to the Misc for sale area. If they are in the hashing and planning stage I will keep it here. If you would like to keep throwing around ideas and that sort of thing in this thread and are ready to sell...go ahead and throw up a FS thread in the Misc marketplace thread.
I don't want your for sale thread clogged with back and forth and I don't want your back and forth to be overshadowing your sale.
Brian
I would want postcards personally. I do like the trading card idea though.

Hey Kel! I don't see why I couldn't modify it for a business card size. And that was kind of what I was thinking... maybe design some cards that people could then simply buy the file and go out and purchase their own business cards/trading cards/postcards/whatever. I can certainly have my lab do the printing, but for those small runs it gets a little pricey, and I can understand why some people would not want to pay that much. I wish I could make it less, but with that price I am pretty much breaking even. I don't even know if I should attempt to sell something like this to the public... lots of work for very little $$ Hi Brian - This is still in the planning stages at this point. Like I told Kel, I don't know if it would be something I would want to offer for sale because it seems like it might be priced too high. Even postcards run about $1.75 each and those are in sets of 25. (the price goes down the more that's ordered). I would love to know more feedback from you guys - would you rather me design files that you can put on a business card or postcard or even a 4x6 print from a photo lab? Or would you rather have it all done for you, packaged up nicely and ready to trade?

Since we are still hashing...heck Jessie, if you are just looking at break even on the trading cards, but could make a profit off of designing files and the member can use that for the option of their choice...I'd say offer the service to design files and put it up on the FS board and see if it flies.

This is what I did for biz cards to hand out at rally's perhaps. I added my blog address in case folks wish to visit online. On the back of the cards I'll just jot down the year/models. Jessie, if folks had you create their graphic image they could then order 250 biz cards or even post cards from Vista Print. The biz cards are free but you pay like $3.50 or something for shipping. The post cards are also free for 100 of them and you just pay postage.

Okay I think that's what i will do... offer to design cards for anyone interested... then they can order at Vistaprint or a lab of their choice.
