I bought a set of four and I can't seem to get them to work. It seems that the base itself should be threaded. My brother even tried to get the Screw in and couldn't. Is there a trick to get the screw in or is my set defective? Inquiring minds want to know Thanks Maureen

This style? If so there is a nut that sits in the base. If not give as a link to what you have. Brian

Yep - that is exactly what I have - But I can't get the screw past the top of the base. It stops about a 1/4 inch after making it thru the nut. Should it be that difficult? it seems like the screw is creating a new thread in the hole of the base (past the bolt) if that makes sense?

Sounds like the holes are too small in the base. The base shouldn't really touch the threads. If you took the nut off it should drop right into the base. The only thing that contacts the threads are the nut and the nut sits in the hole.
They are suppose to easily pull out with out twisting them so you can stack the bases for transport. I would take them back or if you don't want to file down the holes.
They are not working right.

Thanks Brian - that's is exactly the issue - the base to small for the screw - it's like have to screw it in the base without the nut - I wanted to be sure before I took a trip to take them back
