I've been looking for it everywhere, but I kind of found this after reading a couple threads and well... It's not what everyone says it should be, can someone help me make sense of it, because the the piece inside of the tongue is gone. I looked and looked for it. The worst part is when I thought I saw a V and I didn't realize my neighbors were riding there bikes by and I did a triumphant cheer and they started laughing... Attachments:

That definitely looks like a candidate for a VIN number to me, but the number stream seems odd for a Shasta. Shastas typically start with a letter that signifies the factory they came from. However, different brands of trailers have all kinds of different VIN numbering systems, some just numbers, some with letters too. It looks like you found this number on the top of the tongue... that's certainly a common place to find them. So I am betting you are right.
I reread your posts from before...sounds like you aren't sure just yet what kind of trailer you have there. If you can get some photos posted, maybe we can help you figure it out.

Here's what I just got up on Flicker if you'd like to see it. It's a really sad sight and I wish I could have gotten better pictures for you, but sadly the card that has the pictures before I started to explore taking the skin off, isn't compatible with my computer card slots. T.T Its so sad looking! www.flickr.com/photos/shastasandfishing/with/5860099401/

Definitely not a Shasta. Interesting paint scheme though, that should help to identify it. The 16 in the beginning of your VIN may signify the length. If you measure it from the back all the way to the hitch and get a number close to 16 feet, that's probably it. You do have your work cut out for you, but the good news is you paid an excellent price for it. Don't be discouraged though, we've got one that is at least as rough as yours, if not worse, and we're still going for it. How's the inside? Any photos of that? There's a lot to be learned here on this forum, even if it's not a Shasta. And there are other message boards that may help you with identifying it. I can send you some links if you like. We've been in the same position of not knowing what we had, and it'll take some detective work but hopefully you'll be able to figure it out, maybe even find somebody with the same one. Kat

Okay, I just uploaded the interior. Like I said before I started to remodel like crazy the first day so I ripped a few things out, like the dinette, but I didn't realize how rotted the bones were until I kicked the front panel and now I can see the ground from where it dislodged to... Im going to have to take off the front to fix the skin...
