I'm looking for experience regarding what wire gauge to use between a Power Converter and 12v Battery.
My run is about 6 feet and I have some 12 AWG wire but I am concerned that it might not be thick enough. The converter is a 45amp Power Wizard. I don't plan to draw a of of power (lights and a fan) but I'm wondering about the load during the charging cycle.

I've ended up using 6 AWG wire. Turned out to be cheaper than 8 because I found it locally by the foot, I could only find the 8 AWG in 100' spools.
Thanks for the help. I was important to learn that 12 AWG wire really was not up tot he task.

One thing you can do if you already have 12ga wire is to double it up, then connect it back together at the ends. 2, 12ga stranded wires are equal to 1, 8 ga single wire and usually alot cheaper too. A trick I learned in outdoor lighting where 8 ga is very expensive.
