Discovered my new pride and joy 67 Compact has some serious water damage. Walls are pretty well seperated from floor, vent leaks ruined framing in cieling and all cross members from windows down are shot. About the only thing holding the cabin on was the interior cabinetry. So I have removed vent and filled the opening with new metal; stripped front and rear walls and cieling and vinyl flooring and all cabinetry. Tommorow new flooring goes in. Plan on screwing and glueing 1/2 inch ply on top of old ply and usung 2 x 2 arround perimeter to reattach walls. The siie walls are just going to get another layer of panelling on top of the old. Floor first and then resheeting sidewall should keep me busy for the next few days. Alan

Laid 1/2 inch new floor over old with lots of construction adhesive and screws. Replaced 90% of cross braces ffront top and rear. Pulled all old 110 wires and breaker box and installed new. A lot of very bad wiring done over the years. Had to jack up body to get it positioned over fram/floor properly. Replaced or repaired wall framingon lower section by undoing siding. Replaced most of the door framing. Installed new foam insulatio front top and rear. Have been puting in long days but am satisfied with progress. 8 days into it now and hope to have paneling in by this weekend.

Sounds like you are on the right track, Alan. They take time to repair, but worth it in the end!!

Panelling installed today. Tomorow the cieling and install new breaker box with two 15 amp breakers; one for ac and one for interior lights and plugs. Using a lot of space inside for queen size bed. Front will have small dining counter for two with some storage on the left side. The only cooking inside will be a MR Coffee. Will still use ice chest and Coleman stove or grill for those chores outside.
