Has anyone had a vintage looking awning made with screens that can be rolled down and zipped up?
I love the look of a vintage awning. However, we want to be able to close up screens to keep the bugs out if needed.
Thanks!

great idea! Wonder if Marti could add them as an option to her awnings?

here is one kind of like that, might give you an idea, just use mesh instead of canvas.

Perfect! I wonder if Marti could do it. It's just insane here with the skeeters this year and makes it hard to be outside.

It's not vintage but it works good. Easy to set up too. Attachments:

A little off track but interesting I thought. Mosquitoes LOVE me and totally leave my husband alone. And this year they do seem worse than ever so after complaining once again my husband did some 'research'. Turns out people send out blood type markers through their skin which mosquitoes tune in to and they hunt for type O blood. and of course, I'm type O. sigh

Hi, Marti here, I popped into this ebay page listed above and find this mosquito netting room, Pretty cool, A lot of my folks ask me for these and I can't help them much, It seems that the lightweight netting like this one my machine just eats and the heavier screen cost as much as sunbrella fabric and is very heavy.. BUT this looks like a great idea, It says that it has zippers to attach, But I don't see why I couldn't refit the top edge with a piece of sturdy fabric and add one side of velcro to it and could easily add the other side of the velcro to a strip on the underside of an awning, This would all be a lot cheaper and easier than anything I could make from scratch.. Just wanted to let you know in case anyone is open to the suggestion, thanks Marti,, 530-891-5120 Marti's Awnings
