Does anyone recommend to treat the wood framing or interior panels with a water sealant or finish to protect them from water? What would you suggest using?
I know there are issues with using treated wood and aluminum... So I am looking for suggestions. Thank you

I painted the framing and plywood from the outside before I insulated and put the aluminum on. (home-built)

I also put water sealer on all my framing and the back side of the plywood before insulating. THere are many water based sealers out there, that arent' toxic. I used Thompsons cause it was on sale. Takes no time at all, it's cheap, and it could keep the rot away. Do it!

Thanks for all the advice. I was guessing it would be a good idea.

I also used Thompson's on all of my framing. Since I was painting my new paneling I primed both sides with oil base primer before installing. I also painted the wood framing all around the bottom edge with oil base paint and undercoated the bottom of the camper. l

Thompsons or something like that may help. Most finishes won't stop rot but might slow it down. Wayne
