I've got more done in the last three weeks than I have in the last 3 months..
3 Saturdays ago the interior was bare with only the ceiling in place. No walls or flooring.
I put the 'vintage looking' commercial tile floor down first. I did not cut them
down to 9x9, I left them 12x12 and they look fine. It was actually easy to do, took 2 hours.
Then last Saturday I made templates and cut my birch panels for around the windows
and the front wall, got them sanded and finished and installed most of them.
Friday and Saturday of this week I got the rest made, framed the dinette benches
and bathroom areas and got those covered with birch too.
Our bathroom will be very simple.. We didn't need a full bath with shower etc and I didn't want
the hassle of a black tank and dumping waste and all that. We are using a potty seat
mounted to the top of a hinged plywood shelf. A 5 gallon bucket will go under that.
We'll use thick kitchen garbage bags in the bucket and a diaper turned inside out.
After 'use' we'll just tie the bag and throw it in the trash. For our use, it will be the
easiest cheapest solution. Some may scoff, but it will work for us.
I'm hoping to get more edge trim done prior to Thurday and the bathroom door..
My brother and I are taking the camper to LimeRockPark (famous road racing track) for
4 days over Labor day weekend for the historic racing event there.
We won't have a kitchen (bringing a Coleman portable kitchen) but we'll have a weather
tight place to hang out and sleep.. Can't wait for the maiden voyage, even though
the camper isn't as done as I'd like~
