well I installed these custom tail lights today, (I know they are not the original style so be gentle), but I just think they look way cooler. I bought them of ebay a while back. I cant hook them up since the PO cut all the wires at the tongue, and where it goes into the frame, and comes out of the frame, then they put some external lights on the rear bumper. when I replace the wood and walls, I'll run all new wires and hook them up. the only real down side was I had to cut a 4 inch hole for each light since they are countersunk. but I Just think these look way cooler.

I think they look great! and I love the little 'drip caps' over the lenses.

yea, those look great on their own. compare them to the PO tailight fix and they are 800% better. while our compact is stripped i re-ran all the wiring for the lights.
post a pic once you get those bad boys wired up and lit up

WTG!! The installation looks very nice, and you are bringing your personal touches into the mix. Keep on with what you are doing. You are creating your custom classic.

thanks, I can see my completed camper in my mind,,, I think I might move the tail lights a little closer together, (each pair I think might look better closer to each other)

As I said, I like those lights. I was thinking along the same lines but using 3 on each side to minimise the WIDE look of the rear of the trailer. Also (and I may do this) I was toying with the idea of '59 Chevy taillights canted to match the stripe that V's in the rear. That with a "continental kit" mounting of the spare should fill up the back.

Are these light flush mount or do you need to cut out a hole in the skin of the trailer. Or you just need a small hole for the wires to come through. Seen these on ebay and was thinking about getting them also. Looks very nice. Nice retro look.

no they are not flush mount, I had to cut about a 4 inch hole in the aluminum. the lens it's self is recessed about an inch into the camper.

I was looking at those also. Its the drip cap that attracted me to them. I think they look great.
