We'er thinking of entering Hamlet in an Independence Day Parade in Steilacoom, WA. Steilacoom is a small town on Puget Sound south of Tacoma and north of Olympia. It is the oldest incorporated "city" in WA, and in some ways, hasn't changed much since 1854.
They have a fun town parade every July 4. Very old fashioned, very patriotic (Joint Base Lewis McChord is nearby), kids on decorated bikes, military vehicles, local politicians, classic cars, cub souts, drill teams, local bands, and a synchronized library cart team. There's a street fair and ice cream social as well.
Is there anyone either in the area, or coming into the area who would like to join us? It'd be a kick to see a couple vintage trailers in with the vintage cars. Let us know here. The applications have to be in by the end of May.

Wow, what a good idea... wish I had a red, white and blue ham! There are a lot of vintage trailerites in the area. I'll spread the word.

How fun! I hope somehow you can get pictures! Maybe someone on the side-lines can snap a few as you go by. Then you can share with us (:

I am in Issaquah...can you give me more details? Do I need a vintage car that can pull my trailer? I usually do the 4th of July parade with my MG in Enumclaw? I think, can't remember the town. I know it is a long drive from here. Are you camping there too? Mindy

Awe Hamlet... sounds fun. I grew up in WA and my whole family is still there, but alas, I'm in Reno now. Would love to come up for a parade. I'm still in the midst of rehab so date of completion is unknown. Am gonna try to get up there probably in August. Have a great time! I'll pray for good weather for you!

We don't have a classic car, but blue an white Hamlet does look smart behind our dark red tow vehicle. After looking at all the classic cars every year we thought it would be cool to have a classic trailer (or two, three, etc) in the parade as well.
We won't be camping (or at least that's not the plan), but if you're in Issaquah, it'll take about an hour to get there.
Vixx - Spread away!

Thought I'd pop over here to see what this is about. I went to Clover Park, dad was based at McChord and my parents still have a place in Lakewood, near the towne center so this is basically my back yard. I'd love it! I pull my trailer with a blue Eurovan. The kids would love to be in the parade! I will see if we can make it work and get back to you! It's an hour from my house, in Redmond, so probably 45 min from Issaquah Mindy!

That would be awesome. We'd love to have at least a couple more Shastas join us. I can't believe you have a blue Eurovan. We have one of the first ones that came off the line in 1993. It's got more than 300k miles on it. Sort of a mess now as we have used it as a work truck for the past year, but it has provided us with many wonderful trips and memories. We call it "The Big Blue Breadbox." Daisy will look great behind it!

Of funny! Yeah, we love our Eurovan..We got it the last year they made them - 2002. So far so good. We are in for July 4th! Would you send me a link to the site for the paperwork? I could only find 2009 & 2011. sharon_ilstrup@yahoo.com Hopefully we can get more to come along!
