Under the bed A/C. I posted this in SOB, too but I didn't think some of you would make it all the way to the bottom : ) Attachments:

With mattress on top. Hubby put a hinged wooden top on the bed for easy access underneath. Attachments:

Great looking installation. I really like the way that you have handled the exhaust air.
Do you have a duct fan in the exhaust tube to help move the hot air? This could really help with the efficiency of the AC unit.
Great Job!!

I don't think so. We ran it day before yesterday and it cooled but wasn't really cooling the whole trailer very well. I'll bring this up with my hubby, who was the A/C installer. I just told him where I wanted to stick it. Come to think of it, that's not the only time I told him where to stick it. LOL.

Home Depot sells fans made specifically to go inside ducting like that...

Great installation! I saved your pics to show hubby. I'd like to do something like this. How many BTU's is the A/C unit you have? Where does any water from the A/C drain to? Down that hose or somewhere else?
Cowcharge, those exhaust fans you mention that go inside the ducting, are they somehow wired to the A/C power so when the unit comes on the duct fan does also? If not, how would one best hook one up?

Well, I meant fans that would fit inside ducting of that type and size, not built specifically for A/C. I think they're intended as bathroom exhaust fans. You'd have to figure out how to wire it, maybe just a simple switch to turn it on whenever the A/C is left on, so that it blows all the time? It wouldn't hurt anything to be sucking heat out of that compartment even when the A/C was in its off cycle. Or it could be wired to a temperature sensor. Or I'm sure it could even be wired into whatever relay operates the A/C fans by someone not afraid to take the cover off the A/C unit.

Thanks for all the help! I'll pass it on to my hubby.
