Oh to have $$$ again....... They are pretty cool though...Huh! Hard for me to justify right now. I'm looking at shasta in the AM with the same wings on it for 700 asking on whole trailer. But the ebay ones look to be in good condition. But I'm no expert, I just came down with shasta fever a couple months ago.

Are the wings different depending on the year? Im looking at one hopefully soon with wings. i love the wings. Do people mainly keep them that chrome color? The ones on ebay look gold. I am new with the fever! Thanks!

They DO vary from year to year. These are newer than the ones on our '59. These have only three holes, ours have 5. The metal is slightly different as well: these have a slightly waffle-y texture, and ours are smooth. You will also see them get smaller as the 60s progress. By 1972, they were too small to get a canary airborne (just kidding, of course), then they flew away entirely.

I realize it is not in everyone's budget, but after seeing the remarkable wings that tylerbes makes, I would rather spend the $325.00 (or about that amount I think) for a set of his, than spend $200+ for a set of wings that are dented, corroded, and oxidized his wings really are first rate. for me it was as investment that will I will have for a lifetime so they were well worth it.

^ ^ ^ Yeah, that. I've said that several times and warned the wife. Mine aren't ready for their wings but when the time comes, tylerbes will be getting my business as well...

Hamlet agrees. We happened upon Hamlet's and wound up spending $375 (more than we spent for Hamlet). They were in good shape, but very oxidized. I spent many, many hours cleaning them up. Although we don't regret getting originals, if Tylerbes had been around here in 2009, I'd still have several more layers of skin on my fingers!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it! I do my best, and have to say the response has been great. The folks on the forum and just people who have gone to my website have been keeping me really busy, and I certainly don't mind at all . Its been a pleasure. Tyler
