Found in the storage under the dinette cushion. The round end is felt and the arm on the other end expands and retracts, at the corner a lip is welded on, clearly to attach and latch onto something. The husband PO is deceased, and I doubt the wife knows (and I hate to bother her on something kinda trivial) so just wondering if this is a McGyver application that anyone has seen before. I keep thinking it's to keep our door open, as this has been an issue, and we have a after-market attached step that it may hook on to, but I just don't see where this little bugger goes. We have the funky rear door (not that I think this will help much), but may help the Sherlock Holmes-ing! Attachments:

it might hook to the awning rail at the top and the rubber pad rest against the trailer.this would make the upper part with the adjustable rod stick out away from the trailer. i think its for hanging a coleman style lantern.

O.k., I can see that, but with the awning attached - no room at the inn, so to speak, and fire danger.
Good call though, maybe this was a "pre-awning" application.

it could just hang on the gutter or "j" rail and not the awing rail
