This might be a dumb question, but is the awning rail on a 1966 Compact up at the top, where the rain gutter is?
One of the previous owners of our trailer must have had it parked for a while, and ran a TV cable up through the curb side gutter, and through what I think is the awning rail. I assumed it was added later and was going to remove it, before I saw this section and realized it might be an awning rail!
We have lots of extra material that matches our new gaucho cushions, so we're going to sew up an 8x8 awning for her as we really need some shade, and protection from Oregon's more than occasional rain. I'm psyched that I might not have to add the rail!
I'll post photos if nobody knows what I'm rambling about, but they didn't come out well as the trailer is in the garage.
