I contacted Steve from Vintage Trailer Supply a little while ago to see if he would be interested in reproducing the green factory nameplates that Shasta put on their trailers. The nameplates indicated which factory the trailer was assembled at and the address of that factory. I sent Steve my original name plate and he was able to get it in the reproduction process. I got to hand it to him. The plate artwork looks spot on... The plates are not in stock yet. They are still being produced. Steve said they would be a few weeks out. However you can sign up to be notified when they are done. Go to the link below and click "Email Me When In Stock". You will receive the email when they are available. The current price is $12.99. At this time VTS is just doing the Goshen, IN plant because that is the plate I sent him. If you have a plate from another factory and would like to have it reproduced. Get in contact with Steve and send him your plate. He will most likely give you a reproduction plate for your troubles. He is interested in doing the other factory plates but needs a original example to get it accurate. Follow the link to the nameplate page... Yep,
I talked to Steve and he is real happy with them. I should be getting mine real soon I hope. I will post picture when I have them.
Again... If anyone would like to get involved and you have the green factory plates from another factory. Please contact Steve. He will have you send him your plates and he will give you a reproduction in return for your help.

I am brand new to vintage Shasta ('66) ownership. I would like a name plate but I don't know where it goes and don't see where it might be. Please do tell.

After the 1965-66 era nothing is solid. They started doing so many different models that is hard to keep track. They may not have been put them on there.
Generally the name plate was by the entry door (usually to the left) and near the grab handle. There would be two mounting screws near that area.

Note if you order this plate it does not come with the mounting holes predrilled.

Hi Brian, That is so cool with the Reproduction plate, think we might get one, just not yet...we just bought our 63 Shasta Astrodome today, and we are very excited to start restoration on it. Just wanted to know if you have any good site we could visit to help us. The man that owned her before didn't care for her at all, and pretty much let her go...so we really want to bring her back to life, we are looking for an owners manual to try and get her back the way she belongs, so if you have any idea where to look for the owners manual or maybe some specs that would be very helpful?? Thanks, Natacha

I'll keep this brief because this thread really isn't the place for this but... Shasta never gave owners a full manual like you get with your car. They did give owners a packet of documents. I have scanned my packet and have posted them in the individual sections they apply to. Look for them stuck to the top of each section. As far as sites to look at? Check out this thread for as start... vintageshasta.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=generalowners&action=display&thread=475As far as specs? The best I can do is our Database. It isn't complete but a start... vintageshasta.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=specificationYou should do a write up and introduce yourself to everyone in the introduction section so we can get to know you and better help you. Good luck... Brian
