Well, been off line for the summer but am getting back into it. Found some formica that we liked so used it on the countertop. I wanted something different for the table so built one myself from a piece of Oak veneer. 1961shastacompactrestoration.shutterfly.com/pictures/8The other pictures show the shelves I have built in the closet and the upgraded electrical equipment. I went a little overboard on the electrical but wanted some room to expand in the future if need be.

Four thumbs up! (Two from each of the humans, but none from Hamlet - Compacts don't have thumbs.)

universal, I didn't use shellac, I can hear the "boo, hisss,) from the purists but I really didn't want to deal with the shellac issues. I used ACE brand Poly-finish semi gloss, water based. I debated on the oil based product but since this is inside and not exposed to the elements I felt secure in using it. I applied it after the birch had been installed. I use a combination of both a flat type applicator and a small foam brush for the tight spots. I gave it 2 and in some places 3 coats. The table got 4. So far I am happy with the results but only time will tell about its durability. The table is the same product.

Nice job! I understand taking the summer off. We did, too. Most days were in the upper 90's, so that was a no-go for us.

61 Shasta, what a beautiful job, I just started our 62. I've been studying your pictures, all I can say is "inspiring" Thanks for the photos. Mike
