Looks to be original. Love the very clear instruction plate. Do you mind if I "borrow" it??

Sure thing!
I know this sounds dumb, but among other things I need to figure out if the burner chamber is supposed to be packed with a fiberglass type of material (or asbestos?) or if this is just more mouse activity! I suspect it's a mouse house, brought in through the exhaust port) but I'm hoping to find some documentation or hear from others with the same heater.
Thanks!

The burner chamber should be "clean". You can probably pull the heater and clean it out. I had one full of thousands of gnats one time... What a mess. Good luck on getting the fuzz out.
PS: Got the photo, thanks! It will help people on lighting their heaters.

That's what I thought. I'll try and take some pictures when I disassemble and clean. Thanks. Have a good weekend.

That's the original floor; I've seen it in a number of other photos on this site. If I could find a box of them I'd patch in some of the damaged spots. I know a guy with a shop full of old kitchen materials, so I'm holding out hope that I can score some vintage tile and Formica! The stuff has been sitting for 30-50 years!

I have a 62 SC, from son of original owner, it is the same furnace. Mine is clean inside. And BOY does it heat. Holy moly. I had it on for about 3 hours the other night, woke up and was cooking, even with vent and a window cracked.

Hi shastaluego, thanks for the reply. I missed it until just now. I appreciate the help. I hope to fire it up soon. Let me know if you have a blog or build thread. I'm learning a lot by looking at other folks' sites!

I have a 64 1500 which has this same furnace, it seems to put out a lot of heat even when it was full of stink bugs. Lots of vacuum time to get it clean. Mine has a very long tube on the temperature control sensor which is just shoved in the side of the furnace. Can anyone tell me where it should be located?

Heaters were optional and not all trailers had them, if you don't have a vent in the floor, or a huge furnace next to the door, your's didn't come with one!
