I finally buttoned up the exterior on my total rebuild of a 65 Compact. Now it is time for the wiring. I have read the posts here and they all seem to deal with restoring the original lighting.
I want to start from scratch and install all LED running lights. While I am at it I am going to trash the body grounding ( so 50-60s, Like my old 54 VW convert.) and ground everything back to the frame with wire. Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to look for LED exterior lighting. I especially would like to find a teardrop style side marker light similar in size to the original .
I am also planing to go all LED for interior lighting. Any leads on light fixtures?
As far as where to run the wire I plan to have it enter the coach at the tongue through a grommet in the floor and run along the floor inside the cabinetry as much as possible, going into the wall cavity for the tail and side lights. I am going to build cupboards above the settees like the earlier models did and run wire through them to reading lights.
Any comments / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
