We purchased a 1955 Shasta 1500 and plan to start restoring in the next few weeks with plans to finish realistically in 2 years. This is the first post in our adventure. restoringike.blogspot.com/

We're finishing renovation of our 1955, and Ike sure does look familiar. You may get a kick out of our saga (www.currin.us).
Are you planning to restore to original or renovate? From the picture the skin looks good but, using ours as a reference, the interior has been modified? We had a sink and range (burners with oven) on the street side with the ice box on the curb side. We've modified our interior to fit new appliances but the basic dimensions weren't changed. If I can help with any original measurements let me know.
Ike was a great find, enjoy the journey.

Hugh Currin:
Thank you for the link to your site... wow do we have some fun planned for this spring.
We plan to restore with the birch walls and cabinets to original spec, but will probably use updated appliances. Obviously there is a lot of time before we get to that point. Our "Ike" was unfortunately poorly redone and lost his original layout. We did find the original kitchen base behind the plywood along with some of the original cabinetry.
Your site was super helpful to really see what it is supposed to look like. Thank you for the offer on measurements. I am sure we will be in contact for some of those.
