After removing the front window in our '64 we were left with a thin metal frame (aluminum?) still attached the the wood window frame. We needed to remove this in order to do some other repairs. However, in doing so we ruined the metal frame (it is very thin and the nails holding it were very stubborn).
How can we go about replacing this? Does not seem that VTS sells. Any other dealers out there? Would we be better off buying metal somewhere and bending ourselves?
Any advice is appreciated.

dono, I am in the same boat, I bent mine putting the window back in, not super bad, but I would like to replace it.
you could use birch strips on all the windows, it would look nice. I have been thinking about doing that, I dont see a need for aluminum trim on the inside so much.

A metal shop can make the trim to order. It's usually 1/2 x 1/2 angle, pretty thin. Just cut to fit your window opening.

I trimmed mine out in screen mold--with finish on it hard to tell difference, and I think it looks better. May have the metal trim fabricated at some point. It's very hard to keep that stuff together when you're pulling the windows.

Do you have a picture or two of this aluminum trim? I have most of what I removed from our Starflyte and do not plan on reusing it.
