I was hoping someone would be willing to take a picture of their 1960-64 original door threshold. I need a picture of the aluminum mounted to the floor/frame. My original was modified by the P.O., so I guessed when I made mine, but just noticed on one that is listed on Ebay it looks like it has a lip on it. Thanks

Flat face against the screen door closure. The quarter there for scale.

Well that was easier than I thought, probably because I had the old aluminum trim from the Strike side of the door. Since I am getting the trim remade I just used the old stuff and I was lucky enough to have 2' that wasn't damaged or painted purple!

sweet! how did you bend the lip on to it? that's a sharp bend, I plan on making one but am not real sure how to do it.

The only bend I personally did were the to on the Ends, I used a HVAC folding tool. I used a old piece of trim from the original door to make the threshold.

while were talking about this, is the threshold cut into the floor, or does it just sit on top of the VCT?

It appears to me like it sits on the top of the floor level, even with the edge, with the tiles "butted up to" the inside edge or the aluminum.
Sorry to disappoint, but no apparent need to "cut" here...

Always looking for a reason to cut!

I am a little bit surprised the threshold does not over-lay the tiles, sure seems like it would have protected that lead edge of the tiles from normal wear and tear.
