Just picked up my wheels from Martin Powder Coating! Had them sandblasted & then powder coated in Pacific Salmon color! Just love how they turned out & love the color. My 2 1/4" whitewalls will be here on Tuesday.....can't wait to see them when the tire is on. Still have to order my baby moon (dome) hubcaps from VTS but that can wait til she is road ready ;D Attachments:

Carol, I hate to burst your bubble, or tire in this case, but you may want to check with the state patrol or DMV. I think Michigan is one of the states the requires trailer specific tires on ALL trailers, their designated by a ST on the sidewall. I have a feeling you ordered tires from Coker and those are not trailer rated. Trailer tires have a stiffer side wall to hold up to the side forces towing applies. and a different tread pattern to hold up to the heat generated by towing. Just an FYI!!! Your rims look great btw!

persimmonpal They were $80 to sandblast & powder coat both wheels but since the Pacific Salmon was a special order color, I had to buy 5# of it for $60. Now I am looking for other parts on the trailer to powder coat. schweetcruisers I told my husband that the tires he bought weren't for trailers & he bought them anyways. I wish I would've asked this forum before he bought. I will see about returning them or I will just have to see how they hold out. They were expensive. Thanks for letting me know!

Wow! Do I feel lucky. I had mine done for $25 a wheel through Les Schwab ( a west coast tire co.) They were worse than yours befor. I love your color.

Yes, Michigan does require trailer tires on all trailers. I don't have trailer tires on mine...shhhhh don't tell anyone! Personally I'm not worried about it on a compact but there has been lots of debate on this subject.

The pretty VTS domed ones don't fit my Arstrodome or my Deluxe wheels. I felt really stupid! Probably could have returned them but that was a while ago and I thought I would buy new wheels. Now I'm just going to buy the correct size hubcaps. They will probably fit yours because its a compact.

Picture with my new white walls! I know, I know they are not trailer tires! The next set will be, even if they are not white walls. I will double check the side walls on every trip I make. Does anyone know for sure if the VTS baby moon/dome hubcaps will fit my 64 Compact with original wheels? Attachments:
