Hello, my lock is fully intact but I don't have a key. Should I take it down to a local locksmith to have a key made?

Certainly cheaper than buying a new/used Bargman 66 lock with key for $200, or whatever they are selling for these days. They may need a key blank though. I got mine from an ebay seller named rfurtado1. The kay is stamped HFD7 on one side and H5 125H on the other. It was for a '37 Plymouth or something.
The seller sent a me buisness card with the key, and the card has an email address, rara2u2@msn.com so you might try going through him dorect, rather than his ebay store. As I recall, the key was around $6 plus $1 shipping or something like that. I thought it was a great deal.
Hope that helps,

A local locksmith was able to make a new key for mine. I didn't have a key blank.
