I broke the large glass in front window of 17' starflyte during my renovation.
Should I replace glass before I put the window back in?
Thanks for tips!

Yes it tends to be easier with the frame on the bench. I'm guessing you have a solid non opening window? You can purchase glass seal tape from the local glass shop. Spray it with windex BEFORE you set the glass or you won't be able to adjust it. I had good luck with my big Aljo window...

Awesome. Thanks!
But I assume you are referring to the tape on the inside of the window. Where do I get the gasket for the outside?
Thanks!

I had the same problem and put the new glass in before I put the window back in.

RV putty tape at the local RV store. I'd go with 3/4 x 1/8. The roll is 30 feet. Also, if your skin has ripples and ridges, cut small pieces of putty to double fill the dips. Windows are easy and rewarding...

Okay, so use the putty tape for the outside edge of window frame and the outside of the glass too?
I want to make sure i am following!
Thanks!

Window glass tape is different than RV putty. The putty is for the flange, where the screws go. The glass seal is inside the frame. That's the super sticky stuff that you use windex on while setting the glass... it's usually black and about 3/8" wide...

Got that. But my original had a grey gasket on the outside of the glass - ie the opposite of black tape. What can i use to replace it?
Many thanks!

I've not encountered two gaskets. Can you take a picture? If it's plastic trim, it's pretty hard to find....

Latest update - in trying to flatten the corners of the panaramic front window frame I seem to have cracked the solder. Can i just re-solder this? Is there anything special to note about this repair?
Thanks!
