I thought I'd be posting a picture with wheels and tires by now, but its going to be another week or so. My father, a very smart man, saw my wheel, tire, hubcap combo and said "paint it now! Don't wait, it will look better and youll be happy!" So now I have to sand blast and prime my spare (old rim) and scuff the new ones to take paint.
harrison, I wasn't sure I would like it but the limeyness grows on you. I like it!
And as for the name I'm leaning toward a play on the lime color, something along the Jimmy Buffet/Margaritaville theme like "Lost Shaker of Salt" or maybe its just how the color is described, "Limey."

Wife caught me as I was about to scuff up the powder coat and said "I like the black, don't paint them." So here it she is with her new shoes, and yes they are trailer rated! Sorry for the crappy picture but its dark out. Attachments:

I also polished up an access door and took it to a local paint shop that has a new DuPont paint matching device. So here is the paint formula they gave me based on a pint. I have not bought any yet to test the match. So use at your own risk. Attachments:

Going to do a little camping at home! First time we have set up the awning. It was surprisingly easy to get in the rail and set up. I had a couple of good helpers. Looks great! Thank you Kristi you did a great job on the awning! Attachments:

Applause for the awning...and BIGGER applause for the helpers! Think of the memories you are already building for them!

Thank you! It's all about making memories! Have great memories of tent camping with my parents. Kids are asleep in the camper, fit pit is lit, enjoying adult beverages with the wife. Life is good! Attachments:

Ok, wait...I think I missed something here...where the heck did you get the whitewall tires?? Sorry, I completely forgot to explain those. I called Diamond Back Tires out of South Carolina and had them custom made. They aren't cheap but they are trailer rated and look great too!!! About $250 each. If I remember correctly they weren't too much more than car whitewalls. Check them out. dbtires.com

Doing some more upgrades since our maiden voyage to The Airstream Club rally at Stone Mountain Park. Changing out the sink faucet to a bar sink faucet that has a tall neck so we can get dishes under the running water to wash them and don't soak that counter washing hands. Changing the power inlet to a true 30 amp connection and cord. Went with the Furrion stainless power inlet from VTS and so far I like the quality. We also got a 7 pin trailer plug to wire in the brakes, but I won't have time for that soon. Not too worried about stopping since we are only towing with my F350 right now. I can barely tell its back there when towing.

I know the picture of the formula is gone, but I was informed that it is just for a base coat, FYI. Feel free to PM me for it.
Thank you Schweetz.

I had a heck of a time getting the faucet in and not leaking, had to use adapters to make old plumbing work with the new faucet. Sink, shelves and drawers in the way so I was working blind. Finally got smart and put plumbers putty inside the adapter fittings instead of trying to use plumbers tape where I couldn't see. And the 110v breaker box is under the water lines, genius! Got the new Furrion 30amp stainless 110v inlet installed with no problems. Replaced the tiny wires from the original inlet to the breaker box with propoer 10 gauge conductor and ground wire. Went ahead and replaced the breakers with two new 15 amp breakers.

Had to laugh about the plumbing... Haw haw haw... been there, done that. Nothing like turning into a pretzel, squeezing into a vintage cabinet to reach that elusive faucet nut.
Beautiful trailer.

I enjoyed seeing this trailer at Riverbend. The awning made by Kristi held up well during the downpour. Thanks again for organizing the rally.

We had fun even though we had our own minor emergency. Yes the awning did really well. The first night of rain I lowered the two outside poles and it drained well. The second night I didin't think we would get sooo much rain and had raised them back up for the tour. Although there was a slight pitch to it, it had probably about 5 gallons of water when I pushed it up and out. Had to do that once in the middle of the night and once in the morning.
