What kind of hold down for the propane tank was original? On the tongue of my camper there is two pieces of angle iron with a hole drilled in each where the tank sits. Would like to find a hold down or possibly make one like the original. Any info is appreciated.

Most early trailers with a single propane tank did not have a holder and relied on bolting the tank to the angle iron that you mentioned.

Oh ok well then i might just do that then. The holes in the angle iron are right at the base of the tank. Guess ill break out the drill.

Most of the tanks that I have seen already have mounting holes in the bottom that match up, but if your tank does not then simply drill two holes as you mentioned.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone have a pic to share showing how the single tank is/was mounted? I don't currently have a propane tank to test to see how it might fit...

The base of the tank sits on the two parallel pieces of angle iron as seen on the front and is then bolted to the angle iron front and rear. Attachments:

Does anybody have a close-up photo of their bolts or hold-downs? I'm currently using two threaded j-hooks, but it allows the tank to rock a bit. I'll try bolts next, but I'd rather not make 2-3 trips to the hardware store and just get this done right.
Thanks!
