I'm headed to Salt Lake City from So Cal to pick her up on Sunday , We are a family of 3 and pretty excited about our new addition to the family. Anyone know where we can find an OG or replica door handle For the entrance door? And a set of 2 large wings? Attachments:

Congratulations on the purchase. I saw (and followed) this one on eBay. It is a great looking trailer, a great example of what a '59 is supposed to look like. You might try Fletchers' ( fletcherstrailersales.com/trailer_parts.htm ) for the door handle. I have no idea of their availability, but the prices they list on the parts page here are in the neighborhood of what you would pay in shopping around for them, without the hassle of shopping around for them. Wings here: www.nastyshasty.blogspot.com/search/label/WINGS%20-%20For%20SaleI know that there may be other sources, like shopping around the internet for weeks, but I am preferential to these.

By the way, welcome to the board, it is nice you will be here with us other nuts as you dig in to this one. I even kept the photos from this one. It is in similar condition to the one I have, needs a little work, but is in great "original" condition. I especially loved the story behind it. Too bad you would be too pressed for time to have the owner get the bearings greased ahead for you.

So we pulled the futon bed out and there is some Old mildew on the underside in corner see Picture. Dose anyone know if this is original bedding As its hard for it to stay up in place. I have seen another One sort of like it but the wider section didn't have buttons. Please post pics as we need to replace it but want To do what would have been in there. Attachments:

I love the shots of the camper in the desert, especially the one in the mirror...great scenery ahead and behind... This is a mattress cushion set from a 1960 that was sold about the same time you were buying yours. It is similar enough that I would think yours is original. Yours is in great shape as a pattern to build a new set, or to have one made up.

Nice Znorm what is your first order of business ? Are you fixing it up or is it usable as is. Ours is usable but I need to figure out why the lights on the inside don't work. I'm a little confused because when I picked it up all the Exterior lights worked on it once I hooked it up to my trailer hitch. Here is a pic of my 1961 comet in front of her new gal Lucy Attachments:

So I found a small tear in our roof while inspecting Lucy this morning I must have missed this when I looked her over Before I bought it last week so I'm off to Camping world to get a patch or Repair kit for it. Also bought a non leveler Dicor sealer for around our roof vent And around the windows curbside and street side. Attachments:

Not quite sure where it is in relation to the missing vent, but kinda looks like the corner of vent could have made that as it flew off!

It's just to the front of the vent it was a long and windy 11 hour drive back from Salt Lake City to San Diego. I bet Your right schweetcruisers it dose look fairly new and there Is no water damage under it on the inside Attachments:

Yeah that one looks good Crw2620 all flat grey top and bottom. Luckily it hardly rains here in So Cal so I have some time to discuss With the wife and see which one would fit our needs. The rain sensor sounds amazing But seeing how it rarely rains here that might be to expensive of a vent for How much we would need it. Just wanted to post another pic of our Lucy Lou. We are just thrilled with her. We do have a dented front roof panel is there a way of popping this thing out with a strong suction cup? Any help here would be useful thanks all for keeping up with all our dilemma's and post Attachments:

Thought you might want to know that the hubcaps are available new at Vintage Trailer Supply. They are really 49-50 Ford hubcaps without the Ford stamp on them
