This was asked but not sure if everyone would see it, so wanted to ask here as well. There are some stickers on the inside of our door. The stickers are virtually baked on there now and not sure how to remove them. Is there anyway to get these off or paint over them? If paint, what kind would do the trick? Here is a couple pics. Kel

Really? Maybe it's just me then. I like the idea of them but don't care for them stuck on the door.

They might be original water slide decals. If thats the case im not sure how to remove. If just regular stickers then a heat gun will do the trick without harming the paint. If it were mine id leave them. Kinda adds to the vintage feel of the trailer.

I'd have to agree with some others on the forum. I'd love to have those on my vintage '66 Compact!

I like the stickers too! I found a variety on ebay and etsy, but would like to see them come back in style for all the campgrounds, stateparks, etc. I enjoy the travel stickers for luggage too, but, heh, weren't we all born in the wrong era : )

Kel,
It's too bad you don't dig the stickers. It is a bit of history there. I just bought 13 waterslide decals just like that with the intention of using them when we hit those states with the trailer. Oh well.
You will not be able to remove the stickers without removing the paint. The textured surface is going to make it that much harder. I would just repaint the interior of the door.
I would use a light sandpaper to scuff the entire door. If the decals are raised to the touch I would try to hit that area harder than the rest of the door. Then paint.
You could do it one of two ways. Mask off the door around the trim pieces and spray it with rattle cans.
Or mask off and use a foam roller. I wouldn't use one of the nap rollers. The foam type should do fine. I would use a primer first then the top coat.
Any rustoleum paint should do fine. Remember to clean the door once you have sanded to remove any residue.
Good luck. Brian

If it's not an urgent issue, I'd just live with them for a season and see if they grow on you. You just can't duplicate that sort of history and that's what this forum is all about. As an alternative, I'd bet that anyone with a similiar door panel would trade in a heartbeat.

i'm diggin those stickers! but your call... i use WD-40 for all tacky glue removal. Beats the heck out of goo-gone. way faster, and will break even baked on duct tape adhesive.
