I'm assuming that a Kreg Jig is pretty much an absolute necessity when attempting to "de-rot" a vintage Shasta. My question is which one? The master, the junior, the mini........ Too many choices.... Thanks and happy Memorial Day! Tom

Craig Jr seems to be a very popular choice, I have one and it has done everything I needed.

Craig Jr seems to be a very popular choice, I have one and it has done everything I needed. I just did another video on the Drill Master Portable Pocket Hole Jig Kit from Harbor Freight. It works great! I use it all the time. The video isn't up yet but it's item number 96264 and I think I paid $60 for it. Comes with everything you need including screws. I have another video of it on the website. Harbor Freight also has their own demonstration video. Just search it. Here's mine working with the Shasta...

I bought this for my dh as he's the carpenter around here. He loves it! This tool is like gold for camper repair. He used it on all our new back, top and front framing on the Scotty.
I was cheap and bought the Jr version. It was the right pick for us. Can't see spending on the upgraded set.

I have pretty much all of them, I personally prefer the larger multi hole jigs, their faster since you can do two holes at once, instead of having to move the jig every time. Of course if you want to get crazy there is always this one www.kregtool.com/Electric-Foreman-Prodview.html

I got the JR. at Lowes pretty cheap and they have all the screws too. I opted to buy the extra hand clamp for the Jr. (after a couple weeks of doing without) and am very glad I spent the extra $20 for the clamp. Lowes is only 5 miles form home but my nearest HF is like 30 miles away. It does a lot of work but you will still need the ocasional steel "L" brackets too. Just not on EVERY joint once you have the JR! Jr's screws are a heck of a lot cheaper than L brackets too! Come to think of it, I may have gotten them like a week apart right around Fathers day as gifts!! Just sayin' June 16th is soon! Just ask for those!!
