hello,
I removed the rear window because it leaks. I replaced the putty with butyl tape and put new weather strips on. I cleaned it and put it back on. I even put some of that polyurethane caulk on the screw holes before I put them in. Needless to say the window is still leaking. I noticed that the lower right corner is wet. I inspected the entire window and all is dry with the exception of that corner. I'm not sure how to fix it. Any suggestions?

If you replaced the weatherstrip with the HEHR Backframe gasket that VTS sells, this one www.vintagetrailersupply.com/Hehr_Standard_Backframe_Gasket_p/vts-199x.htm then you might try sealing the corners together where the gasket top and sides butt. I see this as a possible water invite. The wate would travel down the length and appear at the bottom corner. At least it's a theory.

I replaced the pile strips on the jalouise window, they did not have that gasket

So your rear window is a Jalousie? Sorry, I thought they were all awning windows, but I am certainly still learning.

Hi Thanks for the responses. I did not replace the bulb seals because they are out of stock. I was wondering if that would be the issue. The old ones are still there. It leaks when it rains only. I just don't know how to prevent it from leaking until I get the new bulbs (if that's the problem).

Is the water actually getting into the camper on the interiior or is it just the lower window sill is wet. If that is the case that is prob the best that you may get. These Jalousie windows aren't exactly airlock windows. There are many points where water will get in. They do however have a sloped sill on them and therefore any water that does get in the window from should run to the exterior eventually. I would make sure that the bottom corners where the window frames come together are sealed well.

Hi, The water is going in the camper just in the corner. I will not replace the birch until the fall maybe. I will check again make sure the edges are tight. Here is a picture of the corner. Thanks for all the help, I would be lost without this forum Attachments:

Hmmm...
I don't know myself. When you redid the butyl tape did all the tape sections touch with no gaps? That is the only thing I could think of.
Jim may be right also. It could be up top and the rain is running behind the lip of the window and down the backside to that corner.
It sounds like you did everything right. I would replace the bulb seal to be sure.
