Anyone have a good reason I wouldn't throw a bead of Trem Pro along the top edge (only) of my newly installed windows? I put plenty of butyl behind it and it *appears* to be well sealed with the butyl but I like insurance and a bead of Trem-Pro that no one can really see (since I would only do it along the top edge) seems like cheap insurance.
Thoughts??
My new roof is 98% installed - only have about 5 feet on each side to attach but I'm out of gas for today....

I would say if it makes you feel more comfortable then go for it. The drip caps would hide the additional sealant. Run a small bead on the drip caps as well before install as I am sure you are well aware.

Ahhh - drip caps! Forgot about those. My camper had none of these to begin with except for one over the door. That was on the list to purchase but fell through the cracks. I am really only worried about the rear window as the "slope" in that area lends itself well to water ponding along that upper window edge. ...and I always appreciate *any* tips - I'm not generally well aware of anything Trem-pro it is!

You may at one point want to add the drip caps as they provide the first line of defense in helping to keep the water off of the windows, but if they never had the drip caps to begin with then I would definitely add a nice small clean bead of sealant at the top of each window.

The PO of my shasta had run a bead of silicone along the tops of the windows and around all other seams. May not look factory or right but it keeps the water out and thats ok with me. My camper is neither exactly correct nor perfect but we love it and have fun with it.

I used ProFlexRV (similar to TemPro) around all my windows, doors, vents and gutters after sticking them on with butyl tape. Since we had to work on our trailer outdoors, we removed and replaced the windows one at a time before painting. The ProFlex (TemPro) is paintable, flexible and it should keep the putty tape from drying out; plus it looks smooth.

I've been looking for a way to "finish" the edges of the windows, the butyl tape doesn't leave a very clean edge, while a bit of proflex/tempro will allow me to do a nice paint job. Not to mention a little more insurance!

Can someone tell me what this pro flex/tempro is and where you can buy it? We are installing a new vent and I want to make sure it doesn't leak.

I've had decent luck with several types of silicone caulk remover, you have to let them sit for a while. I have not used this particular product. VTS is pretty good about what they peddle so I'd give it a shot. Their advice to get as much off first as you can (I used a multi tool with the flat scraper attachment) and then apply is right on from my experience as well.

VTS was out of the trem pro when i went to order mine. Forced me to look elsewhere. Google shopping only showed 2 suppliers, one of course being VTS and the other as "drillspot.com". So i ordered from them. Only issue with them is you have to order packs of 5. I figured that was alright, i had underestimated most the other stuff i bought so i bought that, i think it was about $30 shipped which actually comes out cheaper than VTS (by abuot $1 a tube) if your buying quite a bit. Figured if i had any left over i would hang on to it or sell it. I have been super impressed with this stuff. I went a little nuts maybe but im sealing every seam i find with it. Over the windows, along the J-Rail, you get the picture..... so if your looking for 5 tubes of it, hit up drillspot, got quick shipping and exactly what i needed www.drillspot.com/products/922683/tremcoinc_635806_323_polyurethane_adhesive_sealant?s=1

Good thing you're doing such a good job on yours that you won't have to be the one trying to get that stuff off any time.....
