The above image is from the HomeDepot website. I have not held them side by side, but the "grape vine" pattern is similar and so is the frosted globe...if not nearly identical. The big difference is the globe has an extension with some depth at the bottom that the original does not. This assumes that the ones I have are original, lol. FYI

Here is a picture of my original front globe on the Compact. I would say that it looks to be a pretty close match for 50 years later! Jim Attachments:

Jim is your globe flat on the bottom? The home depot one is IIRC.

Jim is your globe flat on the bottom? The home depot one is IIRC. It does come to a bit of a point at the bottom, not flat. More like a very shallow V shape. Jim

No wonder I couldn't find it, it's only available in Canada.

Well...I tried to call and order two of those globes from the Canadian Home Depot website...they won't sell them to me since I live in the States...does anyone have any other ideas on where we buy these globes? Thanks for any ideas you might have!

Maybe one of our northern buddies can buy some for us and ship 'em down to us. Just an idea.

Maybe you should start a new thread and put in the title calling for all fellow canadians to get attention! That way if they don't see this one they won't be able to miss that one! Good luck to you!! Janet

Looks like I am that guy! I am willing to help you out, unless you are in a hurry (I have a 3 year old, work overtime, and go to night school so my spare time is thin).

I'm in no hurry. Shasta is in retirement for the season and I have plenty of other projects to keep me busy.

I have both my original globes, but need the chrome fixture that mounts to the ceiling. Anyone have a spare one to sell? Attachments:
