I have 2 things on both sides of the back of the camper. They are the same material that the door holder is made of and have a hole through each. I thought they might be for an awning, but I don't know. Do any of you?

Sounds like you have thing one and thing two. ;D Can you post a picture? Will be helpful. Are the two things over two separate windows?

Definitely a clamp of some kind ... other than that I have no idea and I'm no expert. Third-party rear bike rack? Weird stabilizer jack hookup? Dual flag poles?
