I have purchased another camper to restore. It is a 72 Starflyte. However while looking at other peoples photos of their Starflytes I realized that this door is different. I am just wanting to know if this windowed door was an option for Shastas, or did someone replace it along the way? Attachments:

How does the window in the door operate? If it operates like the rest of the windows or is a fixed glass, it could of the same time frame. If it is a slider (up and down, it was probably an add-on in the late 70's or sometime in the 80's. I haven't seen a 3/4 window in a Shasta before, but that doesn't mean that they didn't exist.

Ross I am also a memeber on some of the yahoo shasta groups and started looking through the photo albums. I came across this exact model that someone has and it had the same door. So I am guessing now that it is original. Just odd cause I too have never seen them on a Shasta. I am not sure how it operates because I have purchased it but it is at my parents in another state while my dad does some of the work for me. I have yet to see it in person!

Holy crap! I have the exact same camper. Ive had it for about 18 years and used it for a hunting camp. Decided to bring it home and strip it down and make a new camper out of it to use for fishing and to take to the races. Im curently rebuilding my door and its the same as you have. Its factory. Be carefull takeing it apart. Was doing good untill i took trim off. There is a thin piece of plastic trim that holds the door skin tight around edges on the inside. This stuff was very brittle nad started to rip on me. Ive been serching for some new trim but havent ben able to find any yet. It has a T shape on the edge of it and it slides into a slot in the metal door trim. If you happen to come across any then please let me know. Good luck on rebuild.
