Wasn't sure where to stick this but thought this was a neat idea for those that have stationary beds. I guess the bed cushion is hinged as well so it lifts up easily for access. Attachments:

LOL! That is too funny! I do that and have a picture folder that I dump them in for ideas I might use later.

I think it is a natural progression of the original idea of the antique commode table that I mentioned in the plumbing section under toilet in the closet of Compact...the obvious advantage to this newer application is the ability to actually flush that one in your illustration and not take up closet space...of course privacy is an issue, but still...great dual use of storage space.

Bruce,
Something like this under the back bed in the Astroflyte would ALMOST be ideal. Mainly because it would be out of the way and it would be easy to put up a privacy curtain across the back right in front of the bed area. I've been thinking about doing a curtain anyway. Although I doubt I'd go with this toilet option because we have a futon mattress for the rear bed and that sucker is too heavy to try and lift up LOL!
Besides, we bought the outdoor shower/changing room thingy...so that will become our "Out House" of sorts and can set it up near the trailer. But the toilet under the bed idea might be a good one for someone that really wants one inside the trailer that doesn't have any other options.

This is one of the things with mine that I haven't figured out. There isn't a potty closet like in the Compacts, the dinette has the original benches which are too hard to move to use a lift up idea there. I think I'm going with the outdoor arrangement like Kel.

In my loflyte, next to the rear "couch" are 2 square benches. One of them has a door you pull open and you can slide out the porta potty (which is a box with an aluminum pail and a toilet seat that sits on top of it). It did come in handy for those middle of the night "pee breaks" but I wouldn't use it regularly. Still for those of us whose bladders call us at 2:30 a.m., it saves a trip outside into the cold, dark, dangerous (fill in the blank).

I HAVE A 67 LOFLYTE WHERE IM TAKING THE REAR COUCH AREA AND TURNING IT INTO A PERMANENT BED.I'M RAISING UP THE SUPPORT DECK FOR THE MATTRESS APROX.4 1/2" ABOVE THE COUCH DECK TO ALLOW CLEARANCE FOR THE PORTA-POTTI TO FIT UNDER.THE PORTI-POTTI IS MOUNTED ON 150LBS ACCURIDE FULL EXTENSION SLIDES FOR EASY PULL OUT.THE TOILET WILL BE HIDDEN BY SLIDING DOORS THAT RUN ACROSS BETWEEN THE CLOSET AND THE STOVE.THIS SOLVES A NUMBER OF ISSUES (1)DONT WANT TO CONTINUE TO MAKE COUCH INTO BED (2)IT RAISES THE BED UP MAKING IT EASIER TO GET IN AND OUT OF (3) IT INCREASES STORAGE CAPACIY BOTH IN SIZE AND HEIGHT (4) WHEN THE TOILET SLIDES OUT IT IS STILL UP ON THE PLATEFORM STEP UP AREA WHICH PROVIVES ADDTIONAL LOAD SUPPORT AS WELL AS MAKING THE TOILET AT APROX H/C HIEGHT,AGAIN GREAT FOR US OLDIES(5)YOU CAN THE OPEN THE CLOSET DOOR WHICH IS IN FRONT OF YOU AND MOUNT THE T/P ROLL ON THE BACK OF THE DOOR. I JUST PURCHASE A TRUCK MATTRESS THAT FITS THE BED AREA PERFECTLY (SEE MATTRESS AND BEDDING SECTION)

My final comment is I'm with you Kel, the nice thing about the "portable" 2 section change room is if you have two small trailers something like that allows you to load it up in either. Anything I can use in more than one of the smaller trailers interchangably is extra reward for money spent. Also I believe some families with kids old enough to sleep in a tent beside a small camper like a Compact wouldn't have to go into the camper at night to use the bathroom. The commode table might ride along in the Compact closet, but once the shower/change room is up it will be put in there.

jer5217: Neat ideas, can you post any pics? (Also, please do not use cap-locks when typing, it looks LIKE YOU ARE YELLING, which I am sure wasn't your intention. Just a friendly request. ) Cheers.

Wasn't sure where to stick this but thought this was a neat idea for those that have stationary beds. I thought about keeping it in the Accessories category but it's still a toilet so I figure even if it isn't plumbed it should be in this section. Brian

I agree Bruce. What I like also about the portable potti tent thingy is it will also serve as a changing room. I think that will be nice so the kids don't track in sand from the beach.
