Coming along.. Frame painted Rustoleum Black Gold areas all painted Rustoleum Red White areas still in progress in Rustoleum White. I've got the hitch area and rear bumper done. Anything that was gold is now red, the wheels are red too. Front skin and rear skin are also now done in white.. Fridge access door, rear cargo door and main entrance door all painted white as well. Too windy today to do the white on the sides, hopefully it will be calmer tomorrow. So far I've used: 1 can of gloss black @ $3.87 3 cans of gloss red @ $11.61 3 cans of gloss white @ $11.61 Total so far for paintjob is $27.09 I think it will take 3 more cans of gloss white to finish it so the whole paintjob should come out at $40 plus a few dollars for blue tape. Won't be museum quality but I like the way it is looking (got the rear cargo door on and bumper painted since the last picture was taken)

Also, Kev... are you painting the top? That is a question my husband had. I don't see the need necessarily, unless I am missing something...

Wow ... that red is such an improvement over that gold huh? (I have faded gold and I hate it!)

I was able to paint half of one side in the garage today.. It took one full can to paint this area.. came out nice and smooth. The difference between the faded, oxidized upper area and the new paint is huge! This will easily be the biggest 'bang for the buck' improvement I do~ .

Looking good! What fun to see the improvement. The red is a great accent.

P.S. I like your cardboard box barrier. :-)

LOL.. thanks Diane. We just put a new front door on our house and the screen door part came with 6 great big cardboard liners. I'm glad I saved them, they have been invaluable here in the redneck paint booth

That looks great - I am inspired to paint this way when I am ready.

I've been working on the interior of my 65 Jet and hope to get to the exterior within a few weeks. I had no idea that using spray paint like you did would look SO GOOD! Do you have a special process that you can share? Did you use a primer and how much sanding did you do? I like the look you achieved and I especially like the low cost!
