My camper had wings when I bought it. I sold them to have money towards the refurb thinking I wouldn't care one way or another if I had them. After ebay fees I made $175 on them. Then I picked up a parts camper for $200 (a 66 1400) and it had wings on it too.. They were painted flat black but were in decent condition. I sold some lights from that camper, took a couple things I needed and sold the remains for $160. I got back $210 on the $200 and still have the wings. I figured I'd clean them up and sell them for more refurb money. After I painted them 'bright aluminium' my 5 year old Cooper saw them and made it very clear he was so happy I decided to keep the "Chaffy wings" (I have no idea what that means, I think he means Shasta wings LOL) and he told me we have to have them due to thier coolness. How can I deny that logic? So it looks like we are keeping the wings for our camper.. they are a little smaller than what was on there..maybe 2 or 3 inches shorter in length. Since we are going with a red/white theme I added some pinstripes to the indents on the wings.. I know purists won't apprive, but what do you think of them overall? I think they look OK with a red accent. Cooper loves them.. Can't decide if its a little too tacky or not?

Think about it, you probably have the best of both worlds because when you're far away I'm guessing you don't really see the red but as you get closer you start to see that something is different and then all of a sudden you have 'something of interest' for the viewer...in the art world that's considered a great draw/attraction to your work...in other words,
it was a cool idea and has cool results!

Those wings are sweeet! I am so glad you decided to give your Shasta its wings again, it is one of the things that makes a Shasta a Shasta, great job.

I agree. Keep the stripes and the wings. Nice detail.
