So the first thing I did when I got my new 65 compact was promptly leave the keys on a picnic table in Kansas driving my camper back to Oklahoma. Needless to say they are gone. Luckily it was unlocked and I didnt have to break in. My question is, I have a number on the lock, does that mean I could possibly find a replacement somehow? How many differnt locks did they make for each year? If I asked someone else with a 65 compact to make me a copy of theirs, what would be the chances of theirs working on mine? Thanks in advance.

I didn't have keys for my 64 Compact when I got her so I just drove up to one of those little key shops outside of a Fred Meyer(NW store) and they made one for me. It was about $25.00 and took minutes.
Good luck!

No, I just drove the trailer to the parking lot outside the little key shop. It was the kind that is out in the parking lot and the guy somehow fitted a key to it. I wasn't paying too much attention.
For my new trailer, I just ordered a new handle from VTS and it came with two new keys. Really easy and the same style that fell off my Compact in the hotel parking lot in Montana. You will notice the duct tape in my pictures!...it added a little design to the door.
