I bought my Compact two months ago on a Bill of Sale here in California. I've been waiting since then for the DMV to agree to title it and change the classification from "Coach" to "PTI". Finally got my new PTI plate yesterday! Since it hadn't been registered since 1985, it was "out of the DMV system" meaning I owed no back registration or penalties so it ended up only costing me $30 for a new plate and 5 year registration! BTW, I highly recommend using a registration service. For $100, they came to my house for the inspection, did all of the negotiating with the DMV and then mailed me my plate!

How do you find one of these registration companies?
Are they everywhere?
Would love to find one in the Seattle area.

The one I used in San Diego was recommended by the guy who sold me the trailer. I did a quick Google search in Seattle and a few companies came up. I'd check Yelp.com to see who others recommend.
