another milestone for susabella, the plumbing is complete and we have water! it'll be so nice to brush (but more importantly spit) inside the trailer instead of out. ;D
Woo-Hoo!

Ta-Freakin'-Da ;D glad that sh*t is over. it was hard to set up in the carport with nowhere to tighten the poles and i still have some minor work to do but essentially, it's done. if i never sew another awning in THAT fabric again i'll have lived a happy life. hell, it took a freakin sledgehammer (no exxageration) to 'set' the grommets!!! image deleted

Very professional! She's beautiful... thanks for the compliment vikx. you've been an invaluable resource and a font of information over this past year. i feel like the old cigarette ad in that "i've come a long way baby"! haha i'm sure you're glad to know i'm done asking questions...at least on the shasta that is! ;D i'll be taking susabellas last 'official' pictures at the mckinney rally in a few weeks where susabella will finally get to show herself off, complete with vintage staging. it's been a very hard but extremely satisfying year. thanks to everyone else who also had lots of advice to offer...remember where we started? image deleted

I just went back and looked at all your photos, and remembered how cool it was when you found that great laminate-in-hiding! And the awning is awesome! Wow! You should be on the cover of ...something!

hahaha thanks for the compliments. ;D yeah, my resto posts are long and probably a pita to read but filled wth lots of info of what to or not to do! hopefully others will be helped by my experiences. in the meantime, i've made a bunting/banner for the trailer too. see? i've even cut my own flamingo stencil and printed it on some of the flags. i can't wait until the rally so i can put all my props up and see them all together for the first time! its only about 7 weeks away, but it's like waiting for christmas...i'm very excited! image deleted

ARGH!!! Why didn't anyone warn me?! Apparently bird poop will permanently etch plexiglass...I have droplet spots all over my rear window now, it's ruined . Calling all experts, calling all experts...can I clear coat the plexi from further damage? I haven't tried a rubbing compound (like used for car headlights) yet but I will test it on some other plexi I have...

Try the motorcycle shops for Novus plastic care products. They make 1, 2 and 3. 1 is the polish and 2 and 3 are different rubbing compounds....

I'm inspired.......this looks great and wow you work fast! My husband and I have ours sitting outside right now and we aren't working nearly as fast but it will happen through the winter. Ours is a 62 Compact and I am just coming on to the forum to do some research on my VIN# to verify before we begin the final restoration decisions!! Keep Camping!

Thanks everyone, kudos are cool! Here's a pic I took this past weekend doing a trial run of the staging I'll set up at the mini-rally in 2 weeks. After the last step mistake we finally decided upon a step stool instead. I love that I found it in pink! (Let's see; gotta hide that outlet better...how I missed that glaring yellow in person is beyond me! haha well, no need for me to look further as I'm sure offspringin & 65callie will point out the rest of my flaws. here's a link to more of the staging pics s240.photobucket.com/albums/ff159/yamahaspeedfreak/Staging%20at%20McKinney/ ) image deleted

Well now i don't even need to come to the rally having seen this photo now. Already snagged a copy of it for framing. It looks good. When will you be coming to complete our trailer. I can fit you in anytime. Guess that air conditioner table jenga set up you have wont be making an appearance at the rally?

Thanks offspringin but you have to come...you're our leader! if it wasn't such a pita I'd bring my jenga set-up just for you to admire but lets hope its cool enough for a/c not to be necessary instead.

we made an additional little table for the shasta...it worked out so much better than the original sized one! susabella will probably never see the large table again!
