Mine loves people but her previous owners kept her outside so she has no manners.90 pounds of bad manners could be a problem for some people so im not sure about bringing her. I want to be able to check out the other campers and im not site that will be easy with her in tow. :-(

Just booked site 105. Far away I am sure, but you can't miss this Shasta wannabe in the Sportsmobile pop-up campervan. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I haven't been on here in a long time... I'm just now seeing this and don't know if I can have the Astrodome ready enough as I took a long break from working on it, but I will talk to the wife and see what she thinks about camping with a 5 month old in November. It's only about 25 miles away so I think we will try to make it.

Site 99 should now be available. There was a change in travel plans and Gregg H is no longer coming.
Our trailer door sprung open on our way to Charleston, SC and did some body damage and bent the door. We have been working on it, but it still doesn't seal properly. We will be trying a rachet strap next to try to curve it in a little more. So like many of you with vintage trailers, the repairs are never done!
McKinney is getting real close now, so get your reservations made.

My camping plans aren't looking too good right now. I have been too busy to get anything done on the camper. Wish me luck.

Just snagged site 99! I'm going to have to work on the Astrodome alot to have it ready! We will be there with our 5 month old baby and his two Chocolate Labs. If his dogs act up you'll have to discuss that with him I almost forgot to mention this will be our maiden voyage!!!

Lets hope its a dry weekend or my roof patch holds up. Its nothing an air matress, a flashlight, and a tarp can't fix. Either way its still camping!

Thanks kto17. I guess I'll agree with you there but I've never camped so I'm not sure what I'm expecting. I'll be happy to get a coat of paint on the outside. I have to get the lights checked out. Don't know what works and the signals aren't in sync with the truck and I don't know which one is wired wrong...I'm assuming it's the camper but don't know how to check it myself. I'd rather not have to pay big $ to figure it out. UGH!!!

I am glad you were able to grab site 99. It sounds like there will be plenty of kids and pets to entertain us all! I usually prepare food at home, freeze it, then heat it up at the campground. Then you will have way less mess to deal with and more time to enjoy camping. Just a helpful hint to the first time campers.

If the weather can settle somewhere in between last weekends 80's and todays nastyness, it will be nice. If it is like this, we might have to bail. My soon to be 4 week old might not be able to deal with it. Hopefully it will warm back up a little.

I don't blame you at all flyingham...it would be no place for a wee one. I'm sure we're all hoping for weather in between the heat and the nasty, I know my fingers are crossed! Can you believe it...it's just over 2 more weeks before we all meet up and I'm sure we're not the only ones who still have more work to do!

I completely understand, but what I really want to say is bundle him up and we can have stroller races!!! I'm sure their moms would love that. Really hope you can make it. I really want to see your camper, but I never took you up on the offer to come check it out. Weather Channel says the average high is 65 and average low is 42 for that weekend. Doug

Pick up an inexpensive hooded snow suit and some footie PJs for the little ones and pretend you are from NewYork! We used to have to wear winter coats over our Halloween Costumes and snow boots.
Site 96, on the campground map, appears to have become available.

I just grabbed 96. If someone needs it, let me know. My dad is coming with his wife. They are tent camping and can be in any site. If you need it, tell me.

Well, I did something nuts (for me). I thought about my dad and his wife tent camping, and, well... the thought just erked me. So I bought the '09 Airflyte that was on Atlanta Craigslist so that he could have something to camp in! He is not aware of it yet, so the surprise will be on him. I'm trying to get him hooked on camping, if this rally doesn't do it, the I give up, it will be right back for sale.

The campground looks to be pretty well booked, but what we found last month at Devils Fork was that there were cancellations/no-shows... so keep an eye on the reservations web page, sites 87 and 88 may become available.

The following schedule is what is planned for the Airstream group, but the Shasta group is more than welcome to join in on any or all of it. Thursday arrivals: No organized group activities are planned. A suggestion is to visit the Booth Western Museum in Cartersville. Friday at 6:00 PM a Meet and Greet appetizer social is planned at site 101. Bring a finger food appetizer to share, a camp chair, and a flashlite or lantern. We will be the flashlight brigade to help guide late comers into their campsites in the dark.(Shasta and Airstream groups are both invited) Saturday at 10:00-11:30 AM will be the combined Tour of Trailers for Shasta and Airstreams. Saturday at 12:00 Noon is the Pot-Luck Lunch at site 86 for the Airstream group. Again, bring a chair and a covered dish to share. Enjoy the afternoon and evening with your family. The Shasta group is having their Pot-Luck around 5:30 PM at a different location. Sunday Brunch, for the Airstream group, is back at the more centrally located site 101 at 10:00 AM. Check out isn't until 3:00, so come enjoy a shared Brunch before you pack up to head back home.

Kristi has posted what Shasta activities there are. Despite several requests for ideas of what others wanted to do no one ever emailed so I figured everyone was too busy or decided we'd just figure it out when we were together.
See y'all soon!
(With flamingos in tow for those who are interested.)

Still needed before I leave... * tags * tires * working lights
Not off til Friday. Not sure when I will accomplish this. LOL

Is it ok to come by for the Saturday morning tour if you are not going to camp? Our Shasta, aka "The Flower Pot"' is far from ready and we would like to meet other Ga. Shasta owners and maybe get some ideas.
