I am in the process of rebuilding my door but the aluminum that wraps around the outside of the door is really shot and needs to be replaced on one side. Is there any place that I can find this? I have checked a bunch of hardware store, and am going to go to a roofing supply store tomorrow. Can it be found or does it need to be fabricated? Cheers Rain

You will have to have a sheet metal outfit fabricate that piece for you if you can not save the original. Definitely not an off the shelf item.

Uggh thats what I was afraid of. I am going to go to a specialty place and see it they have something similar that I can retrofit or see if they can make it for me.

There is a little metal shop here in town that does light sheet metal work. He has made me several sets of door trim. I would ask around your area; there should be someone who fabricates reasonably.

HI vikx, thats exactly what I ended up doing. I found someone to do the frame for under $100 and they are making me extra rails in case I need more in the future.

Here is the finished door frame. We used boomerang formica on top of the wood inside the door as it will match the counters and tables, plus I thought it might make it a little more durable as far as water is concerned! Attachments:
