I need a little assistance here. I am polishing and repairing the jalousie windows for Sharonna. I have the style of jalousie that has an aluminum trim around the entire plate of glass. Each piece of glass is sealed with a "U" channel. Research on Yahoo group says this seal is unavailable from vintage trailer supply and my local hardware and big box stores don't have anything. I'm looking for advice on what you would use if you were in this position. I must replace this seal with something as it is old and dried out so leaving it is not an option. I am very tempted to use either window glazing or the old standby of butyl tape. Photos below.... The windows as they look when in the trailer

The best U channel I have found is from C. R. Laurence www.crlaurence.com/crlapps/showline/offerpage.aspx?Productid=17264&GroupID=6717&History=39325:4940:6712:6713&ModelID=6717 I have an account with them. If for some reason you can't purchase from them direct, you can go to your local glass company and have them order it and possible get them to replace the glazing channels for you. This is the closest fit I have found to the original. One quick tip when replacing the Glazing Channel, once you have the glazing channel wrapped around the glass, use a small amount of liquid soap on the outside of the channel. It will make the glazing channel slide in easier. It is still a tough job to do. I have several pictures of the entire process. As soon as I can, I will upload them. Hope this helps.
