We finished "the pearl" on Sunday and headed off for a cross country trip. We left Massachusetts on Sunday and have made it to Pigeon Forge, TN. We're having a ball! It was all worth it. To see more pics go to shastapearl.blogspot.com Attachments:

Love your blog and your trailer. Congratulations on finishing the project. It all looks great! How long do you expect your voyage around the states to be? My family did a similar trip in 1978. I dream of repeating that route with my kids! I hope that you enjoy every minute.

I live in Sevierville which joins Pigeon Forge. I wish I had seen your post sooner. I would have loved to see your Shasta. I will soon be tackling mine and would have loved to hear about your restoring process. Have a great trip!!

Thanks for all the kind words and well wishes. We are back from our trip and it was so much fun. The last couple of weeks we worked overtime on the Shasta to get her done so that we could go on our trip. It took much longer than we had anticipated so we got a late start. However, the nights spent laughing way past midnight with the kids and seeing the milky way in the starlit sky made it all worth it. The trip took 4 weeks total. Can't wait for next year! And lellyann68 - Pigeon Forge will definitely be on the list of things to see, we didn't spend enough time in your area.

Hey sodashoponwheels glad you had a great trip. I can so relate to the late departure and midnight oil burned to get it done. It looks great, wish I'd gotten mine as far as your before we took off, cause I still have all the finish work to do. Never the less, we too had a wonderful trip. I wouldn't have traded it for anything!

Still have some things I'd like to do, but right now, I just want to enjoy it. I visited your blog - looks awesome! I love your curtains, the wood interior and the floor. Your summer trip itinerary looked like so much fun. That's the payoff for all the blood, sweat and tears I'm still using our Shasta - even parked in the driveway! My daughter and I had a "sleep over" in it and watched chic flicks.
