The dome light that is just above the rear area looks to have 2 small (not 120) wires going to it. Does anybody know if this was originally a 12v light? Nothing else seems to have been so it's a little confusing.

Frank,
I haven't got into my electrical too much yet. That is one of those projects for this summer.
I do also have my wires of that light dumping off into the upper cabinet above my stove. It is the cabinet that holds the breaker box. The PO said they used to use a small battery in the cabinet to power that light. It is a 12v light for sure. Again, I haven't even taken that light down so I'm not sure which kind of bulb is in it.

hi- my 61 shasta SC had that set up. The two wires ran into the cabinet where they connected to a battery. this was intended to be the 12 volt light for the whole trailer. i kept that one just rewired it to my 12 v panel and added several other small 12 volt lights so i can run 110 and 12 v as needed

Thanks for the responses. That's cool that a battery was kept in the cabinet. That is not where my breaker box is, but that doesn't matter.

I was wondering why the wire came to the cabinet from that light. I've been trying to figure out a way to wire in a small 120 v light there, but I can't figure out how to get wiring to it.

We have the same light in our 64 SC. The lens is glass, the bulb says 6 B7 1156 on it, here's a Westinghouse replacement: www.amazon.com/Westinghouse-03859-27S8SC-Voltage-Light/dp/B002DRBDAO/ref=sr_1_14?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1298152364&sr=1-14 . After you take the unit off (it's held in place by 2 screws into the paneling) the back cover pops out of the trim ring. The glass shade is loose inside. The toggle switch on ours is a little worn, but should work just fine. We'll pop a 12v lantern battery into the cabinet where the other end of the wires are and give it a try. I think it's pretty cool and will make a good light to use if we ever pull into camp in the middle of the night! Dee in NC
